Mike Shanahan is an American football coach who attended James Madison University (JMU) in Harrisonburg, Virginia. He played football at JMU as a quarterback from 1970-1973 and was a two-time All-American. After graduating, Shanahan pursued a career in coaching and worked his way up through the ranks, eventually serving as head coach of the Los Angeles Raiders, Denver Broncos, and Washington Redskins. He won two Super Bowls as head coach of the Broncos in 1998 and 1999. Shanahan has been inducted into the JMU Sports Hall of Fame and the Colorado Sports Hall of Fame, among others.
